PHILADELPHIA, PA "Practical aspects of Starting and Operating a Successful Business in India" was the theme of business forum ‘Doing Business with India 101’ at the 14th BMM Convention’s US-India Trade Fair/Expo held from July 2-5th at the Philadelphia Convention Center. While talking to the gathering of business owners, exporters and entrepreneurs wanting to do business in India, Dr. Mahendra Pratap, Senior Partner with Entry India, stressed the importance of understanding people and their culture.

"The goal of the presentation is to point small & medium enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs in the right direction when starting their business endeavor in India", said Dr. Pratap. Some of the resources he shared included business portals like http://business.gov.in by the Government of India, http://doingbusiness.org by The World Bank Group and services such as Gold Key Service offered by the US Department of Commerce, http://www.buyusa.gov/india/en, to help US companies expand their businesses to India.

The presentation was essentially Dr. Pratap's personal take on Entry India’s latest publication ‘Doing Business in India’, which was launched at the BMM event. "The guide has brought together practical information for non-resident Indians (NRIs) and foreign companies doing business in India. The right communication style, finding qualified partners & service providers and forming strong local relationships are critical to successful outcomes and running a stress-free business operation in India", he said.
