International Franchising Expo: Pulling investors from India
Washington DC, April 4 2011: A 3 day 20th Annual International Franchise Expo, the biggest in US, was held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. from April 1.
The worlds top franchise brands showcasing the hottest concepts, representing virtually every industry at every investment level were present at the show. For the latest information in the sector, there were 40 free seminars and 9 in-depth symposia presented throughout the show by franchising's top experts. At the professional center on the Expo floor, attorneys, consultants and lenders were there to answer any questions on franchise ownership including international expansion.
Talking to Mahendra Pratap, senior partner of Entry India, the executive editor of Franchise Times, Nancy Weingartner, stressed on the high importance of expanding American franchises to India. In the effort to tap into Indian franchise industry, which is growing 30% annually, Nancy is a part of a delegation of American franchisors who will be visiting India from April 10 to 15th.
Through US Department of Commerce's endorsement, the show fetched investors from all over the world including India. Education and packaged food were the concepts that fetched the most of the interest of Indian investors.
The next International Franchise Expo, http://www.ifeinfo.com, will be held in NY City from June 15 to 17, 2012.
